Who is Adriana Lima?

Adriana Lima is a famous Brazilian model and the face behind the Victoria Secret Brand. Envied by women and drooled over by men all over the world, this girl truly has a body to die for.

Adriana was born in a coastal town of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil in June of 1981. Raised by her mother and grandmother, Lima never thought she'd become a model. But she was discovered at the age of 13 and entered and finished first in Brazil's Ford Supermodel of the World competition at only 15. She soon moved to New York where she signed with Elite Model Management. Her modeling portfolio starting to expand quickly as she appeared in numerous fashion shows and international magazine editions.

Although she is best known for her work with Victoria Secret, Lima has showcased her beauty on various platforms.

Adriana understands how important having a fit and healthy body is for her career and her life. She explains that it is a lot of hard work and she has tried various exercises to find what works best for her.

“I tried running, I took spin classes, I tried yoga, but I needed something to challenge me.”

Today, she stays in shape by doing Capoeira -a Brazilian martial art that combines dance, aerobics, and choreographed fighting.

“Boxing! It’s my favorite thing to do because it’s always exciting. It’s the best type of cardio that you can do. And you build up muscles without being too big.”

On her off days she loves to incorporate jumping rope.

"Well its not easy because we travel so much so its not easy to always be in working out. I love to jump rope! Jumping rope is the best, if you jump rope for like 10 mins it’s like 30 mins of running. It’s really good cardio. I love it."

“I try to control what I eat, but the truth is I can’t. I tried to give up meat last week, but I only lasted three days. I just couldn’t do it. I love meat, chocolate, and cakes. For the moment I like my body. I don’t think it’s the best one, but I don’t have anything I don’t like about it-yet…"

She also gets plenty of rest and drinks lots of water!
